Come Work With Us
Therapy for Highly Sensitive People is a boutique private practice providing therapy services to individuals and couples throughout California. We are a values-based practice that prioritizes compassion, empathy, and unconditional positive regard in our work with clients and with each other. The mission of the practice is to help highly sensitive clients better understand their brain and nervous system so they too can begin to embrace the gifts of their sensitivities and learn to love their tender souls.
Founded by Christine Tomasello, LMFT, Therapy for Highly Sensitive People was created to provide high-quality, accessible therapy services to HSPs throughout California and strives to be a safe and inclusive therapy space for all clients. We are a self-pay practice that offers full rate, “pay what you can” rates, and reduced fee rates to clients in financial need (through Open Path Collective) to ensure our services are as accessible as possible to all clients.
Christine identifies as a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) and uses an HSP framework to guide her therapy work, specializing in grief & loss, life transitions, and therapy for therapists. She combines an inclusive, trauma-informed approach with a strengths-based and psychodynamic lens in her clinical work, and integrates aspects of narrative therapy, attachment theory, CBT, ACT, SFBT, and DBT in her interventions. Therapy for Highly Sensitive People supports ongoing development for all therapists and encourages Associate Therapists to explore various modalities and theories as they develop their clinical skills to see what orientations work best for their clinical practice.
Our ideal candidate is passionate about working with HSPs and has an interest in working with HSP clients who are struggling with grief & loss, depression, anxiety, or major life changes, or in providing therapy for highly sensitive therapists.
